Baby Boom in B-town





2011 saw several celeb pregnancies, with the most beautiful woman in the world, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, leaving the nation and the world guessing whether she'd deliver on 11.11.11.

Other Bollywood A-listers and page 3 prominents also proudly entered the world of to-be parenthood.
While lot of tinsel town beauties have already experienced motherhood, some are expecting and some are rumoured to be pregnant.

Sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar's daughter Anoushka, who is a musical star herself, gave birth to a baby boy in earlier this year in March. She and her husband, director Joe Wright, have named the little one Zubin Shankar Wright.

Ranvir posted a picture of himself with his son, whom they have named Haroon, on the social networking site, Twitter.
Striking a very uncommon pose for the pic, Ranvir says, “Here’s a photo of Haroon and me taken in true Indian tradition!





Actress and TV presenter, who became a household name for being the anchor during a male-dominated cricket match, gave her husband of 11 years another reason to cheer when she gave birth to little baby Vir on Father's Day this year.
Even though they had a list of names ready with them, they named the baby Vir on Raj's insistence.



Actor duo Preeti Jangiani and her husband, Parvin Dabbas, also joined the list of first-timer celeb parents with the birth of their son in April this year.
"We're both loving and enjoying this parenting phase," exclaimed the proud parents to the media. According to papa Parvin, "I wish I could do more for our baby! I do change his diapers and stuff, but work's kept me from doing all what I want to do!"


This had to be the biggest news in Bollywood after the Bachchan wedding back in 2007.The news of Ash's pregnancy was revealed by Bachchan Sr., in a tweet in June. He wrote: "T 410-News news news!! I am going to become a grandfather..Aishwarya expecting..so happy and thrilled!!!"

"IT'S A GIRL!!," Abhishek, 35, posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.com. He had recently said he wanted a daughter who looked like Aishwarya.


Actor Aamir Khan and his director wife Kiran Rao are parents to a baby boy, the celebrity couple announced in a joint statement on Monday. Due to medical complications, the baby was born through In Vitro Fertilization and surrogacy.
"It gives us the greatest joy to share with you the good news of the birth of our baby boy. This baby is especially dear to us because he was born to us after a long wait and some difficulty," Khan and Rao said.



"Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi are expecting their child too.

The star couple are receiving congratulatory message from friends and relatives. After actress Lara Dutta broke the news of her pregnancy, friend Abhishek Bachchan,  took to Twitter to congratulate her.
"Paaji! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! welcome on board (sic)," Abhishek wrote on Twitter.
To which Lara replied, "Thank you so much AB! You'll will be sorted by the time our turn comes, will call for tips!!".
